Michele Eastland is an amazing singer. She performed with us in 2025 at The Sapphire Room and helped us sell out the venue on a Weds night. Michele is a multi-genre vocalist. She knew she wanted to perform as a vocalist from an incredibly early age. She pursued that dream and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music with Vocal Performance emphasis from California State University of Fullerton in Fullerton, CA. She is the recipient of various awards for her musicianship, including the Peter K. Plotkin Award.
She has had the privilege to perform in various renowned venues and take part in many incredible opportunities. To name a few: The Hollywood Bowl Musical Review Show featuring late greats Marni Nixon and Nel Carter accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra; Toured British Isles and Hawaii; Toured with The Boston Pops Orchestra; Sang with the late Rosemary Clooney in Rosemary Clooney’s “White Christmas Show;” Sang at Disneyland California Adventure and Disneyland; Sang under the direction of former Los Angeles Master Chorale conductor Paul Salamunovich; She has been a featured gospel soloist with Inland Master Chorale in Redlands, CA; Soloist with Boise Master Chorale; Featured soloist at the Morrison Center in Boise, ID with Millennial Choirs and Orchestra; Sang the role of Mother Superior in The Sound of Music in Orange County, CA; Was the featured alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Los Angeles, CA; Sang in the home of actor Andy Garcia. What a pro! A real joy to work with.
We can't wait for Leta to join The Midnight Jazz Cats on the stage at the Sapphire Room for our third show on October 21 ! Leta is a musician, actor, arts educator, community builder and clinical social worker. She created Metamorphosis Performing Arts Studio, LLC to explore mental health and wellness through the lens of the performing arts. She is a grant recipient from the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, The Alexa Rose Foundation, Idaho Commission of the Arts (ICA) and recently won both the prestigious Writer’s Residency Grant from The National Alliance for Music Theater and the Creative West regional grant for the autobiographical musical she is composing. She is a 2023 Idaho Business Review Woman of the Year Honoree and a 2025 Boise City Living Legacies & Changemakers, Women Shaping Arts and Culture Honoree. She has been performing as a musician and actor for 40 years with multiple bands and sings with the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale. Please join us for what promises to be a grad night of jazz from this fine professional.
Sydney Hair wows audieces with her stratospheric singing range, style, beauty and charm. She performed with us at the Sapphire Room in 2024 to a sell out audience. Her tone can go from smooth and silky to rocky road grit at will. She started professionally singing in 2014 when she was just 15 years old. She is a lead singer, lyricist and album cover artiest for the band Minor Paradox. She is also a recent graduate of Boise State University. What a fabulous talent and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet! We plan to perform with her again someday.
Oh, we almost forgot. She has a dog named Posy Lollypop Von Sparklehorse.
The Cats were so fortunate to have performed not once but twice with Cherie. She is truely an icon in the Boise musice scene. She has sang with the famous Curtis Stigers and Gene Harris and at venues as varied as the former Deno's and the Morrison Center. She played with us at the 2025 Soul Food Festival and at the Lounge at the End of the Universe. Cherie is a former Idaho State House and Senate member and is currently on the Board of Directors at the College of Western Idaho and Blue Cross of Idaho. What a voice! What fun! What a lady!
